Sonderausstellung Zukunftsplan und & ZUGvögel
Press release,

The Museum für Naturkunde is celebrating a première and opening two exhibitions at the same time. From 11 June 2020, two exhibitions, Zukunftsplan and ZUGvögel – Eine Sammlung in Bewegung, will be on display for an initial period of three years.

In the coming years, the museum of natural history will continue to work on its plan for the future: the museum will be renovated, the scientific objects in the collection will be catalogued and made even more accessible and new exhibitions will be created with the participation of the public.

These plans will be displayed in various installations on the topics of construction, collection development and knowledge transfer – distributed throughout the permanent exhibition – and information on the progress will be provided in the coming years.

"We have come a long way so far, but we still have a long way to go - and we are now showing this to the public," says Stephan Junker, Managing Director of the Museum für Naturkunde. "Over the next few years, all interested parties will be able to accompany us on our journey and have the opportunity to get involved."

"We are extremely grateful to the Berlin Senate and the Federal Gouvernment for their financial support, which gives us a unique opportunity to return the museum to the top of the world," says Director General Prof. Johannes Vogel.
