Together for change: species extinction, racism and social justice

The Transformation Lab is much more than a conventional conference. It is a platform that illuminates the pressing issue of species extinction from an intersectional and racism-critical perspective, presented by EMPOCAgUG, Theater an der Parkaue and Netzwerk Naturwissen. Here we focus not only on the isolation of species extinction, but also on its profound links to anthropocentrism, racism, and patriarchal structures. We invite you to join us in exploring the multi-layered facets of this topic.

The event is dedicated to the complex connections between species extinction and the current social and political crises of our time. Through interactive workshops and substantive impulses, we want to search together for possibilities for action. What happens when people with different backgrounds and expertise come together to explore the challenges of species extinction and collaboratively develop socially just solutions?

The project group Transformation Lab consists of Anthony Owosekun (EMPOCA), Trang Trần (formerly Theater an der Parkaue), Nils Erhard (Theater an der Parkaue) and Yari Or. The project was developed within the framework of the Netzwerk Naturwissen, an initiative of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and its partners from Berlin and Brandenburg.
