Invitation to talk about climate change

Johannes Vogel, Director General of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin and Hans Joachim Schellnhuber, former Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Research, invite you to a talk about climate change at the Federal Press Office.

Under the motto "Hello, Politics", the Federal Chancellery, Federal Ministries and the Federal Press Office invite you to the 21st Open Day of the Federal Government on 17 and 18 August 2019. At the Federal Press Office, Federal Ministers Franziska Giffey and Svenja Schulze will discuss living conditions in East and West as well as climate policy. Maja Göpel, Secretary General of the German Advisory Council on Global Change and Franziska Wessel of Fridays for Future will be present. The Director General of the Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, Johannes Vogel, and the former Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Hans-Joachim Schellnhuber, will also discuss climate change. "It is becoming increasingly clear that climate change is not negotiable. It is therefore highly unlikely that there can be a climate-friendly cultural policy, because the term implies greater scope for action than we humans have," says Johannes Vogel. "Talking and listening to one another, inspiring the young and committed generation for nature, politics and society - that is the key to actively shaping our future."

A barrier-free and free bus shuttle connects the participating houses. Security checks are carried out at the entrances. Visitors must be able to identify themselves with a photo identification document. The detailed programme with opening hours can be found at www.bundesregierung.de.
